Overview:
The 2012 Hopkins Arts Festival will be held on historic Mainstreet in downtown Hopkins, Minnesota. The festival features a juried art fair, musical performances and summer time fare attracting attendees from across the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area. The event is open and free to the public on Saturday, July 7 from 10 am – 6pm and Sunday, July 8 from 10 am – 5 pm. An opening reception for artists and patrons will be held Friday, July 6 from 8-10pm.
Important Dates:
April 27, 2012: Artists notified of acceptance into the festival
May 15, 2012: Deadline to accept invitation via ZAPPlications. Payment of booth fee and Certificate of Insurance required.
May 31, 2012: Deadline to cancel and receive refund (less $50 administration fee.) No refunds after May 31, 2012
July 6, 2012: Artist Set-up from 6pm-8pm.

July 7, 2012: Artist Set-up from 6am-9am (booths must be ready for awards judging by 9am)
July 7, 2012: Hopkins Arts Festival Saturday from 10am- 6pm
July 8, 2012: Hopkins Arts Festival Sunday from 10 am – 5pm
Insurance Requirements:
Exhibitors must have a Certificate of Insurance in an amount not less than $1,000,000 for business special event liability on file at the Friends of the Hopkins Center for the Arts office, naming the City of Hopkins as additional insured. Please list as: City of Hopkins, 1010 1st St. S, Hopkins, MN 55343.
The Certificate may be mailed to Hopkins Arts Festival, 1111 Mainstreet, Hopkins, MN 55343 or emailed to aarndt@hopkinsmn.com
Artist & Patron Reception – Friday, July 8 from 8 – 10pm
Invited artists and patrons may attend a preview of the Festival, light hors d’oeuvres, and social time at Hopkins Center for the Arts.
Festival Dollars
Patrons of the Hopkins Festival for the Arts have each been awarded $100 in Festival Dollars which they can use only to purchase work from artists at the Festival. We will redeem any Festival Dollars you accept, dollar for dollar, at the end of the Festival.
Awards
Your booth should be ready by 9am July 7, 2012
Jurors will select five award winners:
- Best of Show
- Award of Excellence
- Two Awards of Merit
- Best Display/Presentation
Winners will receive an award and a certificate to be displayed in their booth. All 2012 Award winners will automatically be accepted into the 2013 Hopkins Arts Festival with all fees waived.
Lodging:

A complete packet will be mailed to participating artists after May 15th with more detailed information concerning parking, booth number, etc.
